VTech Data Breach of 2015

Hong Kong-based electronic toy manufacturer VTech announced in November 2015 that it had suffered a significant data breach. The breach resulted in unauthorized access to personal data related to its customers and their children, affecting approximately 6.4 million children and 4.9 million adults worldwide.

In the aftermath, VTech took steps to enhance its security infrastructure, including the suspension of its affected websites, thorough investigation and remediation of the issue, and improved data protection measures.

The VTech incident underlined the need for companies, especially those dealing with children’s data, to prioritize data security and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive information.
